Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging

With inpatient and outpatient services, our professional team of radiologists and radiology technicians ensures that each diagnostic imaging test or interventional radiology procedure is performed efficiently and with patient comfort in mind. Position Summary

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention. Responsibilities

Essential Functions Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor conducive to quality care. Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations for each modality. Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and standards of excellence. Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs. Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results. Performs proper patient identification, acquires clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation. Positions patient, equipment, and manipulates technical factors to produce high-quality images. Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification. Complies with Quality Control standards and participates in related tasks. Administers medical aid in emergencies as required. Uses standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross-contamination. Assists in supervising student sonographers and training new staff. Utilizes all corporate radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. Ensures customer safety and maintains regular attendance per policies. Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Follows established standards for image processing and interpretation. Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment. May be required to work at any facility and provide patient transport. Qualifications

Education/Training : Graduate of an accredited school of sonography meeting ARDMS eligibility guidelines. Licensure/Certification : • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification • Maintains ARDMS physics registry and at least one other ARDMS registry Experience : Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures and demonstrated competency in performing ultrasound examinations relevant to the department.
