DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Kidney Care & Transplantation Services,

which also includes the General Nephrology Clinic at UW Medical Center - Montlake, treats patients with all forms of kidney disease — offering state-of-the-art care, access to new treatment studies and traditional therapies. If you or a loved one have end-stage renal disease, Kidney Care & Transplantation Services offers comprehensive and compassionate care with a special emphasis on living-donor kidney transplantation. UW Medicine’s transplant team is experienced at planning and performing sophisticated living-donor transplants. Each of our nephrologists and surgeons has more than 10 years’ experience in living donation, and patients looking into transplant or post-transplant treatment also have access to research studies focusing on new medications to prevent rejection of transplanted kidneys. Our clinic also provides specialized care to people with genetically transmitted kidney diseases, high blood pressure, kidney stones and kidney disease in the context of pregnancy, diabetes and cancer. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Independently, advises patients, family members, staff, providers, and the public regarding program content and care protocols

Provides support services such as, scheduling patient appointments/ complex testing procedures for pre kidney patients, and updating annual information and tests in order for patients to remain in compliance on kidney wait list

Functions as expert for pre kidney transplant area, identifying process improvements, recommending solutions and using extensive in-depth knowledge of services provided in this area.

Extensive involvement with patients, family members of patients, staff, physicians and community providers in carrying out pre kidney transplant activities by coordinating, scheduling and monitoring appointments, meetings, procedures and tests consistent with program goals and protocols
