Industrial Maintenance Technician - Level B
Professional Packaging Systems is offering a full‑time role with a pay rate of $34.00–$38.00 per hour. The position focuses on maintaining horizontal form‑fill‑seal equipment, shrink‑wrap tunnels, forklift minor repairs, stretch wrappers, and heavy electrical work across the warehouse.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, sweepers, etc.)
Document records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Select repair parts and update parts records.
Repair mechanical damage and replace defective parts, which may include welding, brazing, and soldering. Repairs are made to mechanical handling equipment, racking, floors, plumbing, piping, and other warehouse structural components.
Maintain and repair batteries and chargers.
Apply mechanical skills and knowledge to troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, pipe fitting, fabrication, building construction, and other warehouse maintenance/repair situations.
Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and other diagnostic aids for troubleshooting, repair, and fabrication work.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Be familiar with mechanical hand tools and measuring instruments (tape measures, micrometers, drill gauges, etc.).
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Comply with OSHA Safety and Health regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Candidate Requirements – Tangibles
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Understanding of high‑voltage wiring (480V 3‑phase motors)
Multi‑craft maintenance and repair (e.g., performing interrelated repairs on electrical systems and mechanical systems)
Willingness to work under pressure to fix equipment
Work urgently to get equipment back up and running
Troubleshoot issues on a wide variety of equipment
Conduct repair failures of production and facilities equipment
Ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability
Respond to maintenance calls, sometimes completing a repair that has already been started
Inspect machines, develop repair lists, and identify short‑term and long‑term repairs so that machines run correctly
Candidate Requirements – Intangibles
Customer Service: Treat all team members with the same level of service as you would consumers.
Flexibility: Switch gears, shift priorities, and balance task lists with maintenance repair calls while staying calm.
Self‑Starter: Often work unsupervised, taking ownership of quality and speed of work.
Safety Focused: Follow company safety policies and procedures to minimize risks to yourself, your team, and product quality.
Educational Background Minimum of a High School Diploma and 5 years of equivalent experience.
Knowledge / Skills Required
Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office.
Experience with C.M.M.S. software (Preventive Maintenance/Work Order distribution systems).
Understanding of encoders and equipment timing.
Knowledge of Servo drives and motors.
Variable Frequency drive operation and configuration.
Basic knowledge of logic software.
Strong knowledge of how components interact with PLCs (photo eyes, proximity sensors, etc.).
Preferred Knowledge / Skills
Some college education is desirable.
Fluent in Spanish, both written and verbal, is considered an asset.
