Summary Under the direction of the Shareholder Training & Recruitment Supervisor and in accordance with BSNC guidelines, policies, and federal laws, this position shall provide administrative support in developing and leading ongoing shareholder development programs. The Specialist is responsible for confidential and time‑sensitive material and must communicate professionally via phone and email. This position requires great attention to detail and high‑quality delivery in a timely manner. Applicants must be a BSNC shareholder, descendant, or spouse of a shareholder.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide support in maintaining and improving the Summer Internship Program and assist in administrative support, communication, and recruitment for the program.

Collaborate with Shareholder Development staff and hiring managers to design, implement, and continuously improve the Shareholder Training and Enrichment Program (STEP), including seeking grant funding.

Collaborate on the Leadership, Exploration, and Development (LEAD) Program to provide leadership development and networking opportunities for shareholders and descendants.

Design and improve job training programs, including access to LinkedIn Learning and coaching on current performance.

Assist with development, tracking, and implementation of the Shareholder Employee Career Enrichment Plans.

Maintain and update the Talent Bank database, provide marketing and recruitment support for each program, and assist in sourcing and attracting qualified shareholders and descendants.

Support outreach to hiring managers with open positions and provide training on Shareholder Hire Preference policy.

Assist in workforce development support, including design of resource library, annual BSNC career fair, and virtual career fairs.

Administer shareholder and descendant outreach activities, represent BST and BSNC programs, and manage event planning related to shareholder development.

Handle sensitive information confidentially, prepare reports, maintain filing systems, coordinate office procedures, and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in Business, Human Resources, Education, or related field.

Experience with shareholder or customer relations.

Experience with planning, organizing and managing activities and events.

Valid state driver’s license.

Experience administering special projects.

Verified shareholder, descendant, or spouse of a BSNC shareholder.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics

Proficient with MS Office and Adobe.

Willing to travel and work days, evenings, nights, overtime, and weekends as required.

Working knowledge of ANCSA and Alaska Native history.

Knowledge of Bering Straits region, history, and culture.

Knowledge of postsecondary institutions and student financial aid requirements.

Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Strong desire to expand responsibility and increase experience through on‑job training and continuing education.

Physical Requirements Maintain constant mental alertness; may involve bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods. Most time is spent sitting; occasional travel may be required.

Work Environment Office setting with computer screens, extensive use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi‑line telephone system. Occasional travel may be required.

Additional Qualifying Factors Pre‑employment drug screening, background check, and, if applicable, clearance levels required to access military installations.
