What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Perform coding for services in various healthcare settings including clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and home settings
Review patient documentation and assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes
Ensure codes reflect medical necessity and comply with official coding guidelines
Utilize query and clarification processes to align documentation, charges, and codes
Adhere to AHIMA and AAPC ethical standards and participate in occasional travel to employer facilities
What is Required (Qualifications)
Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare facility, healthcare business office, or equivalent education
Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC, CPC-A), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Candidates must be located in WI, IA, or MN
Experience with coding in diagnostic imaging or infusion service is a plus
