Job Description Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Junior System Administrator
to join our team! In this role you will get to build and operate multi-user Windows and Linux systems to support our growing number of internal engineering networks.
What You’ll Be Doing
Administer Windows Server, Active Directory/Azure AD, Group Policy, and Linux servers
Patch systems, monitor health, and respond to alerts/incidents
Assist with virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V/XCP‑ng) and backups (e.g., Veeam)
Automate with PowerShell/Bash and document what you build
Build/Deploy new systems and apply security hardening tools, e.g., STIGs
Provision new user accounts with appropriate group and user permissions
Work closely with Information Assurance professionals to harden and maintain program networks
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree or equivalence in industry certifications or apprenticeships
0-2 years of experience in IT operations and/or homelab experience with Windows Server and Linux
Powershell and Bash fundamentals
Hands‑on experience with Active Directory
Basic understanding of network technologies such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and VPNs
Strong teamwork and communication skills
US citizenship
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
Certifications needed for DoD 8570 IAT Level II
Experience with Azure AD/Entra
Experience with VMware Vsphere or other hypervisor platform (Proxmox, Hyper‑V)
Willingness to obtain and maintain a US security clearance
