About The Position Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Inpatient Rehabilitation Location: Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio San Antonio, Texas About the Facility: The Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio is a state-of-the-art, 36-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to helping individuals regain independence and function after severe injury or illness. We provide customized, patient-centered rehabilitation for patients recovering from: Stroke Brain injury Neurological conditions Trauma Spinal cord injury Amputation Orthopedic injuries Our mission is to maximize health, function, and quality of life through compassionate care and advanced, comprehensive rehabilitation programs. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Conduct speech-language, cognitive, and dysphagia therapy sessions Educate patients, families, and staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques Document evaluations, goals, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic health record Collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehab team to optimize patient recovery Participate in discharge planning and patient education Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting Typical diagnoses include stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurological disorders, and complex medical conditions Qualifications: Master s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA Licensed or eligible for licensure as an SLP in the state of Texas BLS certification (current and active) Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and collaboration skills
