Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Facility :The George Washington University Hospital Location: Washington, DC 20037, USA Shift: 12-Hour Night Shifts (3x12s per week) Duration Contract : 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The ICU Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive, high-quality care to critically ill patients in a multidisciplinary intensive care setting. The RN will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and treating patients using advanced medical technologies and following established nursing standards and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment in accordance with the nursing process and hospital policies. Monitor and manage critically ill patients using advanced medical equipment and techniques. Administer medications, perform assessments, and interpret diagnostic data. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide education and emotional support to patients and families. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Cerner EMR system. Adhere to all infection control, safety, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications: Current RN license
to practice in the state/district. Minimum 3 years of ICU experience. Cerner experience – Required. NIHSS, BLS, and ACLS certifications – Required. Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved nursing program. Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
– Highly desired.
Technical Skills / Equipment Exposure: Ventilators, ventriculostomies, cardiac monitors Pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella devices BIS monitors, CRRT, intravenous infusion pumps Gastric tubes, continuous pulse oximetry
