Estimated Weekly Salary Range:

$1,880 - $2,020 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application in process

Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience (Neuro ICU experience preferred)

BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)

NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Proficient with ventriculostomy, ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, tPA administration, acute stroke management, and post-craniectomy care

Skilled in titrating IV drips as ordered by physicians

Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips (Phillips monitors)

Must pass a drug screen (drug-free campus)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in an 18-bed Neuro ICU

Monitor and manage patients with complex neurological diagnoses, including stroke (with/without tPA), ventriculostomies, and post-craniectomy care

Perform and manage advanced ICU procedures and equipment, including ventilators, arterial lines, and central lines

Titrate a variety of IV drips as per physician orders

Interpret cardiac monitor strips and respond promptly to changes in patient condition

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs

Float to other hospital units as needed, including intermediate and general medical-surgical floors

Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing professional development
