Unit:
Miller 3 – Cardiac Progressive Care Stepdown (Telemetry/Surgical Focus)
Assignment Length:
16-32 weeks
Start Date:
December 1, 2025
Shifts:
12-hour rotating shifts (Day/Night)
Hours per Week:
36
Employment Type:
Travel Nursing
Holiday Requirement:
Must work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
Estimated Weekly Salary Range:
$2100-$2250
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license (Registered Nurse) in the state of Vermont
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including 1 year in cardiac stepdown or progressive care unit
Recent experience in a large Level 1 trauma center within the past year
Cardiothoracic and vascular nursing experience required
Post-op Day 1 open/closed heart experience required
Strong cardiac nursing background required
Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (NIHSS required prior to start)
PCCN certification preferred
Willingness to float to similar units as needed
Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)
Vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient care to cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients
Monitor and assess post-operative cardiac conditions, including CABG
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Utilize Epic EMR for accurate clinical documentation and communication
Float to similar nursing units as needed to support patient care
Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Work a flexible schedule, including required holidays
