ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Arizona or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience in a Level I or II trauma hospital
Proficiency with Epic EMR within the last 18-24 months
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Experience with ventilators, sedation, sepsis, pressors, DKA, cardiac, CHF, and respiratory cases
Ability to titrate critical care drips (vasopressors, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, sedatives, paralytics, analgesics, anticoagulants, insulin)
Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
No more than 5 days of requested time off during the assignment
ICU RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in a 42-bed ICU
Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 (MedSurg ICU); 1:3 if no vents/drips
Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and clinical support staff
Monitor, titrate, and administer a wide range of critical care medications and drips
Participate in rapid response and code situations as needed
Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
Float to other nursing units as required, maintaining safe patient ratios
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety standards
