The Manager of Supply Chain Pharmacy Materials provides oversight to a team of buyers in a defined market, ensuring coordinated efforts toward drug purchasing. This position compiles, prepares, and generates purchase orders for pharmaceutical products, ensuring a minimum supply is available while considering high usage, drug shortages, and unexpected/emergent usage.

Essential Job Functions

Manage and oversee a team of buyers in the assigned market.

Coordinate drug purchasing and ensure compliance with established procedures.

Process purchase orders for pharmaceuticals and related pharmaceutical products, ensuring a minimum supply is maintained.

Collaborate with system and local pharmacy teams to ensure standard ordering and approval processes are achieved and maintained.

Align the team of buyers toward contractual compliance, system programs, and pharmacy savings.

Process and authorize payment for all invoices for merchandise received or credited per established procedure.

Provide oversight and guidance to ensure appropriate compliance toward perpetual inventory system.

Work with both system and local pharmacy teams to establish plans and processes around current drug shortages.

Maintain daily transactions including receipts, invoices, issues, purchase orders, and adjustments which are loaded into the purchasing and enterprise resource planning system.

Manage pharmacy inventory documentation for compliance with DSCSA and 340b requirements.

Guide pharmacy waste and charge discrepancy tracking process.

Licensing / Certification

Possess and maintain registration or licensing as necessary to operate as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment, in compliance with national pharmacy technician certification and/or registration requirements. (Required; must obtain if not currently certified/registered within 12 months.)

Certified Pharmacy Technician (preferred).

Education High school diploma or GED (required). Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

Work Experience 5 years of pharmacy field or materials management experience (required).
