An established mail order compounding pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Manager for a contract-to-hire role on the 2nd shift. This position offers an opportunity to oversee comprehensive pharmacy operations within a high-volume, multi-state shipping environment, focusing on quality patient care, staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Location: Fairfield, OH

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Shift: 2nd shift (2 PM–10 PM or 4 PM–12 AM), including some weekends

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily pharmacy operations, ensuring timely prescription processing and optimal workflow.

Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel.

Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness and patient care.

Schedule and allocate staff coverage to meet operational needs.

Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations including DEA and HIPAA.

Maintain accurate records and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Stay current on pharmaceutical industry developments and compliance standards.

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.

Active Ohio pharmacist license.

3‑5 years of leadership experience in compounding pharmacy settings (supervisor or manager).

Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing.

Proficiency with pharmacy management software, preferably PioneerRx.

Ability to lead a healthcare team and independently resolve issues.

Experience with both sterile and non‑sterile compounding (capsules, creams, ointments, eye meds, injections).
