Department Profile Middle Office, within Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management Technology Division, delivers core brokerage solutions. It provides the platform with key capabilities across digital channels and supports the B2B stock plan business. Middle Office is a core foundation for Morgan Stanley, requiring team members who can solve complex problems and build sophisticated solutions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with business and product partners to understand the business problem and develop solutions that mitigate the problem and enhance the customer experience.

Analyze business data to formulate appropriate data models and acquire critical data intelligence.

Participate in architecture and design discussions, white‑boarding solutions and effectively communicating the designs to other team members.

Develop software solutions in an agile methodology to bring rapid value to partners and continuously improve in an accelerated development cycle.

Manage delivery of solutions within deadlines while adhering to compliance and development standards.

Present solutions to business/technology stakeholders and management, communicating design choices clearly.

Create technical documentation for the product, business user guides and runbooks to onboard new users.

Research and learn new technologies quickly while balancing ongoing tasks, research tasks, production support and mentoring others.

Qualifications – Skills Required

Experience in a large FinTech or other highly regulated, data‑centric industry.

Ability to analyze business data, formulate appropriate data models and acquire critical data intelligence.

7+ years of software development building distributed systems using modern programming languages such as Java, .NET, etc.

Experience with Python, Shell, or Perl scripts for batch processing in Linux/Windows/Unix environments.

Proficiency with enterprise‑level databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Teradata, DB2, Snowflake) and SQL.

Expertise in data integration using common industry ETL tools (Informatica, Python).

Extensive knowledge of RDBMS systems such as SAP HANA, Oracle, MS‑SQL or Teradata.

Experience working in Agile, Lean or Kanban environments with a focus on team success.

Experience debugging or performing issue diagnosis.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Skills Preferred

SAP HANA (or comparable in‑memory database), Kafka, Spring frameworks.

Experience integrating heterogeneous data sources via REST/SOAP Services, JMS, databases.

Experience in data modeling, query tuning, stored procedures and NoSQL exposure.

Control‑M, Autosys or equivalent scheduling software.

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
