Application Architect – Hybrid
Location:
Plano, TX (3 days onsite – local candidates preferred)

$103.68 - $106.68 per hour (Paid Weekly)
Term:
12‑month contract with possible extensions or permanency based on performance
Shift:
Mon to Fri, 8AM – 5PM
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field & 9+ years of experience in Enterprise Application Support / Strong background in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, SOAP services.

The
Application Architect
will be responsible for leading the full application architecture and development lifecycle — translating business requirements into robust, scalable, and high-performing software systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen with hands‑on coding experience and deep understanding of modern architecture principles, cloud technologies, and enterprise system design.
This role will collaborate with multiple teams, including factories, application architects, and product owners, to create and support solutions that drive the factory’s operations and overall business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement full stack solutions based on industry best practices such as microservices, streaming, and event‑driven architectures.
Collaborate with domain architects, subject matter experts, and product owners to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Provide architectural guidance to development teams, ensuring reusability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Develop and maintain architectural documentation to sustain system integrity and promote knowledge sharing.
Lead root cause and preventative analysis for system issues and production support.
Mentor and coach developers on best coding practices, system design, and software maintainability.
Support and build software solutions for Toyota’s factory operations, ensuring alignment with long-term business and technology roadmaps.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in software engineering or development roles.
3+ years of experience as an Application or Solution Architect delivering enterprise‑grade systems.
Hands‑on coding experience in one or more of the following: Java, C#, or Python.
AWS Cloud experience (minimum 2–3 years).
Proven experience designing microservices‑based architectures and integrating distributed systems.
Strong knowledge of API and UI development concepts (coding not required day‑to‑day but must be technically proficient).
Solid understanding of InfoSec and DevSecOps principles using AWS technologies.
Exceptional collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect – Associate) are highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
Experience working in manufacturing or factory environments.
Ability to create technology roadmaps and provide long‑term architectural vision.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
Interview Process
1st Round (MS Teams):
1‑hour coding test (Java, C#, or Python).
2nd Round (MS Teams):
1‑hour System/API design session.
3rd Round (MS Teams):
1‑hour discussion with the Hiring Manager.
