Job Summary This position is for an IT Architect within Caterpillar IT Division. The incumbent will lead the design, deployment, and optimization of applications across the Enterprise Product Life Cycle (ePLM) landscape, providing IT enablement partnership and services for Caterpillar’s global engineering community. The role focuses on strategizing and delivering Enterprise-wide initiatives in the PLM landscape, engaging with business partners within CAT Technology Group.
What You Will Do
Architect and implement scalable Teamcenter PLM solutions, including Rich Client and Active Workspace environments.
Lead upgrade initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
Design and optimize workflows for programs such as BoM management, CAD, Change Management, DEX, Foundation, Visualization, and Security.
Collaborate with Siemens, supplier partners, and internal stakeholders to strategize and lead ePLM Program initiatives.
Rationalize legacy customizations and adopt out-of-the-box capabilities with local Teamcenter and Teamcenter SaaS.
Provide architectural guidance in IT components, including Oracle-Teamcenter Database Architecture, multi-site support, Teamcenter Data Modeling, and customizations.
li>Provide technical leadership in vendor coordination, performance tuning, and infrastructure planning.
What You Have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, IT technical certification, or equivalent experience.
Proficient in IT applications and technology stack.
Experience with CAD, Siemens Teamcenter, Creo, and NX applications.
Experience customizing Teamcenter and CAD software packages (e.g., Creo, NX, etc.).
Experience implementing software solutions utilizing third‑party APIs.
Knowledge of PLM applications and systems, evaluating key interfaces and interdependencies.
Analytical thinking, root‑cause analysis, and alternative solution development.
Technical excellence in PLM Teamcenter, Creo, CAD, and Visualization applications.
Application modernization knowledge, designing, developing, and deploying modernized applications.
Business assessment skills, gathering requirements, defining user stories, and prioritizing deliverables.
System and technology integration expertise, integrating and communicating among applications, databases, and technology platforms.

The ideal location for this role is Mossville‑IL or Irving‑TX.
This position may require 10% travel.
