Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Drafter/Designer in our Mechanical Engineering Department. Under limited supervision, this position provides design solutions for structural products and components. The role develops or improves products that facilitate manufacturing operations using computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and technical engineering software applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop design solutions for assigned structural products and components.
Interact with engineering staff on design concepts and progress.
May have design responsibility for a portion of a project or program.
Provide documentation, identify design issues, and make technical design presentations as required.
Maintain currency in CAD techniques, ANSI Y14.5 drawing principles, and applicable engineering design software.
Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations. Work safely in accordance with established procedures.
Job Qualifications
Associate’s degree or certificate in CAD design (ProEngineer, CATIA, or IDEAS) plus ten or more years of progressive experience, with at least two years spent using design software. Education may be substituted for experience.
Complete understanding of engineering design concepts and principles, with ability to learn new concepts quickly.
Organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases.
Determine appropriate approach at task or project level to solve complex problems.
Excellent communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills.
Work independently and as part of a team; willing to work extended hours as required.
Job Type : Full-Time Salary Range : 71,950 - 109,885
