Job Description We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience to lead and support commercial projects in our core markets: advanced technology, commercial, healthcare, higher education and life sciences.

Responsibilities

Apply DPR’s environmental health and safety plan, including performing weekly safety audits.

Mentor, develop and train team members for fast‑paced growth.

Manage other project engineer team members.

Understand and enforce contracts between DPR, subcontractors and owners.

Assist the superintendent and project manager in implementing DPR policies and executing the project.

Organize duties of engineers, field office coordinator, project accountant and other staff, providing direction, prioritization and performance feedback.

Participate in trainings and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.

Electronically archive project files for easy access by the project team.

Prepare, monitor and update project schedules, working with the superintendent to address schedule constraints.

Develop and maintain document control entities such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as‑builts, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs.

Distribute new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses and other project information to all affected parties.

Identify, assemble, negotiate and distribute change orders to owners and subcontractors.

Prepare agendas, documents, meeting minutes and actions for owner/architect/contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings and staff meetings.

Participate in project cost control, maintaining internal records and working with subcontractors to ensure changes are paid.

Prepare owner billing by assembling DPR costs, reviewing subcontractor invoices and organizing documents per owner requirements.

Qualifications

Organized work approach with the ability to adapt to project needs.

Detailed knowledge of project scopes with a 100% hands‑on approach.

Desire to seek out and resolve construction problems/conflicts during design and construction.

Goal‑orientated approach to resolve project issues promptly within the team.

Excellent listening and strong communication skills.

Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

Effective participation in a team environment.

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC, Prolog or similar), scheduling software (Primavera or similar) and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or similar).

At least 5 years of experience as a project engineer, preferably within DPR’s core markets.

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related field.

A strong work ethic, a “can‑do” attitude and a passion for construction.
