Job Overview Lord Abbett is seeking an experienced securitized products professional to join our Specialty Finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in securitized products trading, with a focus on the ABS and CLO markets. This role will involve obtaining best execution on buy and sale activity across a wide range of spread products within specialty finance, exercising sound judgement negotiating with longstanding firm counterparties, building and maintaining strong relationships and access to liquidity, and maintaining a strong awareness of our investment portfolios.
Responsibilities
Trade Execution: Fulfill our fiduciary responsibility to strive for best execution on all transactions
Portfolio Analysis: Produce and monitor risk and liquidity across various metrics for our specialty finance portfolios
Market Analysis: Evaluate the current market landscape including technical market trends, fundamental market trends and notably liquidity themes
Idea Generation: Track and articulate relative value across asset classes, sub‑sectors as well as in both the primary and secondary markets
Portfolio & Risk Management: Identify investment opportunities and recommend investment ideas to portfolio management teams
Hedging: Familiarity with hedging products related to credit, interest rates and currency
Counterparty Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with banks, broker‑dealers, issuers and other market participants to enhance market access and trade execution
Reporting and Documentation: Ensure that all trades are entered and logged into internal systems, support compliance and audit processes, contribute to performance attribution
Data Innovation: Capture trade data in a systematic fashion, work with PMs, analysts and developers to enhance trading datasets
Qualifications
7+ years of trading experience in securitized products with a deep understanding of ABS and CLO markets
Exhibits the values of transparency, collaboration, responsibility and communication
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to make quick, yet well‑thought out decisions
Proficiency in Bloomberg, Kanerai, Intex, Valitana, etc.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint
Bachelor's Degree required; CFA or MBA is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 annually
Discretionary Bonus: Eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus based on firm, team and individual performance
