About the Role The Senior Business Development Representative (BDR) will play a critical role in generating qualified opportunities and building relationships with decision‑makers across commercial real estate, construction, and workplace sectors.
This role is ideal for a proactive, well‑connected prospector who thrives on outbound outreach, industry networking, and laying the foundation for major project opportunities.
Responsibilities
Identify and qualify prospects across key verticals:
General contractors & construction managers
Workplace & facilities teams
Research target accounts, map key contacts, and develop tailored outreach strategies
Generate discovery meetings for Account Executives and senior sales leadership
Execute multi‑channel outreach: cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and event networking
Industry Networking & Brand Building
Attend NYC‑based events (CoreNet, IFMA, NAIOP, IIDA, CRE summits, etc.)
Introduce Directed’s capabilities and establish awareness with new firms
Support marketing campaigns and partnership initiatives
Work closely with Account Executives and leadership on target lists and sales strategy
Maintain accurate data in CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce)
Provide market feedback and identify emerging project opportunities
Qualifications
2–5 years of outbound or business development experience in construction / CRE / design / facilities / workplace services
Experience in signage, interiors, furniture, or building materials industries (preferred)
Comfortable prospecting into executive‑level roles (Directors of Facilities, PMs, Designers, Workplace Heads, etc.)
Strong communication and follow‑up skills
Familiarity with NYC construction and real estate ecosystem
Highly self‑motivated, organized, and driven to exceed goals
