Principal Duties And Responsibilities Teacher/Child Interactions
Complete daily observations of children and create daily experience plans that build on children’s prior experiences.
Encourage and model appropriate behavior and expectations.
Help children build vocabulary by asking follow-up questions to deepen understanding.
Program
Make daily decisions on materials, activities, and environments in collaboration with the program to support child learning.
Observe and document each child’s health, behavior, growth, and development.
Supervise children, following all safety and health rules for the eight children in the classroom.
Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and accessible environment for children.
Complete appropriate documentation to report incidents and accidents.
Requirements Education Requirement:
High School Diploma or GED and Florida Department of Children and Family (DCF) 45‑hour child care training requirement completed.
Other Essential Knowledge/Skills:
Flexibility, understanding concepts of diversity and inclusion, good communication skills, working in a team environment, and sensitivity to the needs of others.
