Job Purpose:
As a guardian of the Self‑Checkout area, your primary role is to protect the company against inventory losses or fraud by overseeing the accurate scanning and recording of products at self‑checkout stations. You will actively monitor transactions, address potential issues, and collaborate with leadership to prevent loss. Exceptional customer service is paramount: assist and engage customers, provide guidance on the self‑checkout process, and promptly resolve inquiries to enhance the shopping experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
Protect against inventory losses or fraud at self‑checkout lanes by providing exceptional customer service and intervening appropriately when necessary.
Observe self‑checkout transactions to identify irregularities or suspicious activities.
Ensure customers scan and bag items correctly, verifying accuracy as needed.
Respond promptly to point‑of‑sale alerts and investigate transaction discrepancies.
Report theft, suspicious behavior, or equipment malfunctions to store leadership.
Deliver outstanding service in the Self‑Checkout lanes per SEG service standards: provide proactive assistance, educate customers on the process, engage customers positively, greet/assist/thank customers, monitor lane traffic, and assist with product scanning as required.
Maintain a clean, orderly, safe work area: stock front‑end supplies, sanitize equipment, return carts to the corral.
Qualifications:
Minimum 18 years of age.
Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English; Spanish preferred.
Supervisor experience: 0‑3 years (preferred).
Basic computer skills for online training.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Willingness to complete pre‑employment drug testing and background check.
Education:
High School / GED preferred.
Location:
Store (no travel required).
