Facility Coordinator
The Facility Coordinator is a full‑time Civil Service position in the Metro Parks and Recreation department. The primary duties of this position include acting as the general manager of a Regional Recreation Center and performing work related to the center’s daily operation under general direction. The role may require flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends, and may include other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Supervise a staff of approximately 8‑15 permanent employees, as well as seasonal staff and guest instructors.
Organize, coordinate, and direct facility resources at a Regional Community Center.
Evaluate procedures to maximize operating efficiency of the facility.
Develop and maintain work schedules for all employees.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with local community leaders and partners.
Monitor and address facility operational needs for maintenance, safety, security, etc.
Evaluate program effectiveness using Metro Parks Performance Management guidelines.
Interview, select, train, develop, and evaluate employees.
Ensure proper use of point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and enforce departmental cash handling procedures to maintain financial accountability and compliance.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of general supervisory experience.
Licenses Required Valid driver’s license.
Additional Qualifications
Knowledge of business operating procedures and ability to develop and manage budgets.
Ability to oversee and develop a variety of programs within multi‑use recreational facilities, including scheduling, programming, and maintenance coordination.
Knowledge of Civil Service Rules and Regulations.
Experience coordinating community events and working with local organizations or advisory boards.
Candidates with accreditations earned in foreign institutions are encouraged to apply.
This position is subject to pre‑employment and random drug/BAT testing.
