Buyer

to lead sourcing strategy, supplier management, and purchasing execution across packaging, hardware, ingredients, and indirect services. This position plays a key role in ensuring a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Based in

Scottsdale, AZ , this is a highly visible role supporting multiple markets and teams across the organization.

What You’ll Do

Develop and execute category sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, service, and risk.

Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contracts, and oversee supplier performance.

Support product development and operations teams by evaluating new vendors and materials.

Maintain purchasing controls within ERP systems, including item masters, purchase orders, and vendor records.

Partner with Quality and Compliance to uphold cGMP-style purchasing documentation and state-specific packaging and labeling requirements.

Monitor inventory levels, supply fill rates, and on-time delivery performance to ensure production continuity.

Conduct data-driven analyses to identify cost savings, efficiency opportunities, and supplier risk mitigations.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Product Development, Marketing, and Quality to align purchasing activities with production needs and new product launches.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field (experience may substitute for degree).

5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or strategic sourcing—preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment (cannabis, food/beverage, or pharmaceuticals).

Proven success negotiating contracts, managing suppliers, and achieving cost and service improvements.

Strong understanding of ERP systems (such as SOS or equivalent) and purchasing control processes.

Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Must be 21+ years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.

Bonus Points

Experience working with seed-to-sale systems and cannabis packaging regulations.

Familiarity with cGMP or similar quality frameworks.

Exposure to international sourcing and logistics for packaging or vape hardware.

Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, or Lean/Six Sigma training.
