About the Opportunity As a
Principal Conveyance Project Manager
based in
Sacramento, CA , you’ll lead a team of highly qualified engineers through the design process, interact directly with clients to develop and deliver technical conveyance solutions, mentor ambitious mid‑level engineers, and grow your career as a competent seller‑doer. You’ll join experts in conveyance, pumping plant design, fish screen intakes, water, and wastewater treatment technologies, with opportunities to participate on project teams delivering challenging projects while serving and developing clients.
Responsibilities
Lead business development activities with key clients, acquiring new projects.
Manage and support various projects and programs within a defined client portfolio.
Lead and manage project teams throughout all phases—planning, execution, and closeout—meeting scope, schedule, budget, and contractual requirements.
Use conveyance technical expertise to mentor staff, build long‑term relationships with clients, pursue new work, and develop, position, propose, and negotiate contracts.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Licensed CA Professional Engineer.
15+ years of demonstrated track record delivering multiple conveyance‑related projects in water or wastewater.
Proven ability to manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
Ideal Candidate
Experience serving various clients in conveyance pipeline design, project management, water/wastewater pump station design.
Desire for personal and team growth.
Ability to serve as technical liaison/leader between project owner and design team.
Business development and networking skills to gain market share.
Experience supporting business development with local municipalities.
Comfortable working both collaboratively and independently.
