About The Role Siemens Mobility’s Rolling Stock Division in Lexington, NC is the North American market leader in building passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles. We are seeking a transport operations specialist to drive safe, precise movement and securement of rail vehicles throughout our world‑class manufacturing facility.
Key Impact
Enable on‑time fabrication of carbon and stainless‑steel car bodies by managing intra‑site moves.
Assure safe loading of rail vehicles onto flatcars and tractor trailers per documented methods.
Execute advanced rigging and tie‑down practices to protect assets and people.
Conduct equipment and rigging inspections; establish quality checks before and after moves.
Interpret blueprints and follow technical drawings and instructions with precision.
Operate hand and power tools in accordance with safety procedures.
Support special assignments as directed by the lead technician.
Perform maintenance activities guided by blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions on production, transportation, and facility equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
Minimum 1 year hands‑on experience operating industrial or mobile equipment.
Demonstrated skill with rigging and specialized tie‑down techniques.
Valid driver’s license.
Forklift licensed or able to obtain certification quickly.
Physical Requirements
Work may occur in non‑climate‑controlled spaces.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and handle tools/materials.
Frequent verbal communication; occasional odor detection tasks.
Lift/move up to 40 lbs.
Vision: close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
