Description A Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet a set of quality standards set by the organization. Their duties include examining shipments, measuring specifications of random items in each production run, and supporting production operations to refine quality. The role collaborates with Quality, Custom Solutions Assembly, and Application Engineering departments on quality improvements, inspection plans, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Inspect output samples using industry-appropriate methods.

Check that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures.

Review drawings and specifications to verify produced goods.

Record inspection results in reports, summarize re‑works and wastes, and input data into the quality database.

Train the production team on quality control measures.

Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.

Maintain measurement equipment accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs when necessary.

Read and interpret engineering drawings.

Use metrology equipment such as calipers and micrometers to measure products.

Work within the Quality Management software system to compile, manage, and maintain quality documentation.

Assist in the development of test methods and inspection plans.

Determine causes of product defects and reworks.

Receive and maintain required certifications from Swagelok.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education and Experience

Two‑year degree in an industrial‑related field preferred.

Quality system inspection related experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Attention to detail.

Basic computer and math skills for calibrating and measuring specifications.

Ability to use measuring devices, gauges, micrometers, calipers, and computers.

Understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.

Ability to read CAD or SolidWorks drawings.

Documentation and reporting skills.

Teamwork and collaboration.

Comfortable standing or walking for long periods.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Knowledge of 5S Lean methodology.

SAP B1 experience a plus.

Physical Demands and Responsibilities

Travel between assembly facilities as necessary.

Must pass visual acuity requirements for inspection.

Regular use of hands for typing, handling, or feeling objects.

Lift and/or move objects 5–25 lb occasionally.

Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, or stooping while working at a desk.

Maintain a neat and orderly workspace.

Engage in effective verbal communication and active listening.
