This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40. Any applicant/employee who is licensed and would operate a commercial vehicle for the Company will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company’s FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs. Responsibilities
Framing poles
Preassembling material
Patrolling and inspecting pole and tower lines
Testing and inspecting poles
Repairing risers and ground mouldings
Pulling slack in anchor guys
Replacing guy guards
Splicing and terminating non‑lead and lead underground cables
Installing and splicing fiber optic cable and communications
Taking primary distribution voltage readings
Installing company‑owned customer outdoor lighting service equipment and street fixtures, including making connections on circuits with voltage below 750 volts
Installing all types of customer services, complete with setting self‑contained meters
Setting and replacing service poles
Setting street light poles and outdoor lighting service poles not to exceed 40 feet in length
Washing insulators on lines energized up to 60 KV
Driving the line truck and operating fixed and attached equipment
Maintaining time cards and material records
