Overview The Neurodiagnostic Technologist Level 2 performs standard and complex neurodiagnostic procedures with limited supervision, provides technical assistance and training, completes documentation, supports departmental functions, and performs all duties of a Level 1 technician.
Responsibilities
Utilize the International 10‑20 Electrode Placement system to measure, mark, and apply electrodes.
Achieve impedance levels below 10k ohms.
Perform standard EEG recordings per protocol (awake, asleep, bedside, etc.).
Adapt methods and instrumentation to optimize results based on clinical history.
Compile patient neurological data for interpretation.
Complete technical and professional billing and enter billing numbers.
Document studies in the electronic log.
Perform Video EEG Long Term Monitoring recordings.
Maintain and replace electrodes as needed.
Collect patient information pertinent to interpretation.
Perform editing, pruning, filing, and archiving of records.
Conduct standard Visual Evoked Potentials, Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials, and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials per ACNS guidelines.
Provide supportive patient care during seizures, assess patient conditions, contact EMS, and notify interpreting physicians.
Collaborate professionally with team members and physicians.
Follow all departmental protocols and policies.
Maintain neurodiagnostic equipment, perform inspections, report repairs, and clean per manufacturer recommendations.
Pursue continuing education: academic programs, workshops, CME, etc.
Practice universal precautions and infection control, maintain a safe environment, report risk concerns, complete mandatory requirements.
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Tech Program.
At least 1 year of experience in electroneurodiagnostic technology.
Ability to follow verbal instructions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
Licenses & Certifications
AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
American Board of Registration for Encephalographic Technologists (R.EEG) Certification.
Compensation Minimum hourly rate: $28.93. The posted rate is an estimate and may vary based on experience, education, skills, location, internal equity, and departmental budgets. Additional incentives, shift differentials, and a comprehensive benefits package apply.
