Job Description An exceptional opportunity for a seasoned labor relations executive with a proven track record of effective labor relations leadership, within or outside of the hospitality industry. This role oversees the labor function across
24 collective bargaining agreements
(CBAs) at
12 Omni properties . The
Corporate Director of Labor Relations
serves as the primary point of contact for all unionized hotels, HR, and Operations leaders, working closely with senior leaders in Operations, Finance, Legal, and HR. This individual will also manage outside counsel as needed for complex labor matters requiring local expertise. This leader will design and implement nationwide labor relations strategies focused on union avoidance, including developing and delivering training programs, guiding responses to union activity, and leading successful union avoidance campaigns. This position will also act as the corporate HRD for all union hotels with a dotted line to the Vice President, People and Culture for HR related issues.
This position is based in Dallas, TX at the Omni Hotels & Resorts corporate office.
Responsibilities
Built and maintained productive relationships with UNITE HERE or other labor unions
Managed outside counsel for negotiations, grievances, and arbitration proceedings
Led collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations
Partnered strategically with operations to identify efficiencies and opportunities
Collaborated with finance to model potential outcomes and assess business impact
Effectively navigated grievances and arbitrations, demonstrating strong judgment on when to settle and when to litigate
Deep understanding of CBA nuances and their operational implications
Partnered with development teams to analyze market intelligence and labor environments
Developed and conducted training on preventive labor strategies using data to identify areas of vulnerability
With a particular focus on training hotels experiencing union activity
Served as the Work Shield liaison and record keeper
Oversaw relevant Integrity Hotline investigations
Participated in industry events and maintained relationships with subject matter experts
Monitored labor developments in active and emerging markets, recommending proactive strategies for risk mitigation
Negotiated union benefit and pension plans, with a strong grasp of associated risks
Educated and advised field teams on union prevention in non-union environments
Qualifications
5–10 years of relevant labor relations experience within a unionized environment, preferably in hospitality
Demonstrated success in union avoidance strategies
Experience managing outside counsel and consultants
Hands‑on experience overseeing the grievance and arbitration process
Proven expertise in union campaigns and negotiations
Extensive knowledge of labor and employment laws and best practices
Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Ability to work independently while demonstrating strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
