Speech Therapist 2025-02606 Location: Lander, WY – State of Wyoming

Join the Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) to provide speech therapy services to residents of our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). This full‑time position is open until filled.

Key Responsibilities

Provide communication, oral motor, mealtime, and hearing components of assessments and interventions to maintain caseload.

Coordinate therapeutic programming, ensuring active treatment for each individual, including ongoing staff in‑service.

Monitor therapy program interventions and document progress with monthly and quarterly notes.

Teach mealtime challenge classes and specialist subjects to staff; provide training needs related to communication, therapeutic mealtime, and oral motor.

Order and maintain necessary mealtime and communication equipment.

Develop and maintain evaluation and training kits when commercial options are unavailable.

Serve as an Interdisciplinary Team member and participate in special committees.

Coordinate augmentative and alternate communication (AAC) for non‑verbal residents, including design, construction, and maintenance of AAC materials.

Assist with community consultations as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions & Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Speech–Language Pathology (SLP).

Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Wyoming as an SLP.

Knowledge of principles and techniques of speech, hearing, and rehabilitation therapy.

Familiarity with regulations, laws, ethics, professional duties, and research methods applicable to speech–language pathology.

Strong decision‑making, self‑direction, organizational and prioritization skills.

Proficiency in computer and relevant software applications.

Excellent verbal and written communication with residents, staff, families, guardians, and the public.

Team‑work ability within an Interdisciplinary Team and adaptability to change and challenging behaviors.

Ability to write programs and perform oral motor, mealtime, and audiology assessments and interventions.

Physical Working Conditions

Safe mobility (twisting, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting) for individuals with severe disabilities.

Ability to monitor environmental sounds, client location, and respond to emergencies and behavior management situations.
