1st Shift – 10 hours/day, 4 days/week (Mon‑Thu 6:30 am–5 pm)

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician B to join our team at Stennis Space Center, MS. In this role, you will work with technicians and quality assurance personnel to support assembly, test, and delivery of large rocket engines and components, with primary responsibility for rocket engine test preparation, test, and post‑test processing. You will develop specialized knowledge of engine and component function & assembly, pre‑ and post‑test processing, and functional testing & inspections.

Essential Functions

Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, various measuring and testing devices, and experience with hand tools.

Understand and interpret required engineering drawings, instructions, and technical manuals.

Knowledge of mechanical equipment such as high‑pressure pneumatic, cryogenic, and hydraulic systems, NDT equipment, etc.

Operate computers and special software associated with PLC hardware and graphical user interface (preferred).

Work at heights and in confined areas.

Learn and follow detailed processes for the operation and maintenance of large‑scale rocket engine test facilities.

Work with staff in related disciplines, including contractors and customers, to ensure successful assembly, testing, and delivery of Aerojet Rocketdyne products.

Daily communication of activities and status with Aerojet Rocketdyne personnel at the Design Centers.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (U.S. citizenship required).

Must be able to obtain and maintain NASA Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) security clearance.

Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% as required.

Must be able to pass an eye exam and hold certifications such as thrust chamber entry, respirator, lock‑out/tag‑out, cryogenic safety, process safety management, etc.

Must be willing to work all shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or 2 years post‑secondary/Associate’s Degree with 0‑2 years of related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift, crane, hoist, manlift, etc.) safely.

Aerospace background with A&P license/military equivalent proficiency test preferred.

Strong team player with good communication skills and attention to detail.
