We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer/Drafter skilled in SolidWorks 2D and 3D to join our engineering team. The position requires working with quality managers and estimators to prepare high‑quality documentation for manufacturing based on customer designs. Essential functions also include being an engineering liaison between design, estimating, and production. This is an in‑person position.
Responsibilities
Work with designers and estimators to prepare high‑quality manufacturing documentation based on customer designs.
Create drawings, cut lists, BOM, DXF, and other documentation from customer drawings to support Production.
Create submittal drawings for approval and review comments to support Estimating.
Maintain engineering files and folders.
Act as liaison between Design, Engineering, and Production.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of SolidWorks and ability to work independently.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
Familiarity with sheet‑metal fabrication processes such as welding, grinding, laser, brake press, sawing, etc.
Positive, eager‑to‑learn attitude with strong work ethic.
1–3 years minimum experience in a metal fabrication environment producing flat layouts and associated documentation using SolidWorks.
1 or 2 year trade school / technical college diploma / degree desired, or 5 years hands‑on experience.
Experience with tool making and progressive stamping desired.
Experience communicating with vendors on technical matters.
