Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM

• Maintain 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on 22-bed stepdown unit

• Care for patients with heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke

• Required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro

• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently

• Work with CPAP equipment and troubleshoot as needed

• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment

• Patient care techs available with 1:10 ratio

• Cyclic scheduling with every other weekend requirement

• Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday

• May float to ICU if appropriate experience

• One 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation provided

• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• Use EPIC charting system

• Fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges

• Artificial nails prohibited - must be removed or contract terminated

• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility

• Driver's license required for verification of distance requirement
