Respiratory Therapist CommonSpirit Health is looking for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our faith‑based, mission‑driven culture. The role involves providing compassionate care, advancing modern medicine, and contributing to patient outcomes across all care settings.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Perform respiratory procedures under physician direction in all patient areas.

Be responsible for patient assessments, care plans, plan implementation, and evaluation, revising therapy plans as needed.

Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure the most effective and efficient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Utilize knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care.

Support the organization’s vision and mission and practices performance improvement techniques to assure the delivery of the most effective patient care.

Job Requirements

1 year of respiratory therapy experience, preferred.

Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR), preferred.

High School Diploma required.

Associate’s Degree preferred.

Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (e.g., CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP) required.

Must have current state licensure (RLT) in the applicable state of employment and a CRT by NBRC.

BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire or within six months of hire.

NRP and PALS certifications required upon hire or within six months of hire.

Schedule Full‑time days – 3 12‑hour shifts (6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and every third weekend.

Physical Requirements Medium work – Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, or up to 10 lbs constantly.

Where You’ll Work CommonSpirit Mountain Region – Penrose‑St. Francis Health Services is a full‑service, 712‑bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs. The facility includes Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital – Interquest, offering a broad range of services including a modern Birth Center, Level III NICU, Cancer Center, Emergency Department, Level III Trauma Center, Imaging Services, Acute Inpatient Rehab, Surgical Services, and Critical Care Unit. The location also supports Colorado’s Flight For Life® air medical transport service.

Pay Range $28.50 – $46.75 per hour.
