Responsibilities
Perform high-quality ultrasound exams in areas such as abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and small parts, based on certifications and clinical need.
Explain procedures clearly to patients and address any questions or concerns.
Prepare and position patients properly for imaging to ensure optimal image quality.
Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust settings based on exam requirements and patient anatomy.
Capture and analyze sonographic images to assist in diagnosis, ensuring proper documentation in PACS and EMR systems.
Collaborate with radiologists and providers to ensure appropriate protocols and follow-up imaging when needed.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform daily quality assurance checks.
Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, including universal precautions and proper handling of supplies.
Maintain accurate patient records and document relevant medical history, symptoms, and exam findings.
Assist with training of new staff or students as directed.
Support departmental workflow and scheduling, ensuring timely and efficient patient care.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Successful completion of an approved school of ultrasonography program.
EXPERIENCE: 2 years current ultrasound technologist experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Registered with the ARRT(M) upon hire.
BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire.
