Job Summary The Electrical Engineer will serve as the technical authority for power system protection and automation, leveraging deep expertise in relay configuration, PLC systems, and fault analysis. This role requires a hands‑on engineer who can diagnose, design, and optimize medium‑voltage protection schemes, communication networks, and automation systems that keep operations running safely and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities
Configure, install, and maintain Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) and Siemens SIPROTEC relays, including modifying settings, pulling and interpreting event files, and performing relay testing.
Utilize AcSELerator QuickSet, DIGSI, and related tools to manage relay configuration and documentation.
Conduct detailed fault analysis on medium‑voltage systems to determine fault causes and establish safe reenergization protocols.
Implement and maintain IEC 61850 communication networks for protective relaying and substation automation.
Program and integrate SEL RTAC systems using AcSELerator RTAC and AcSELerator Diagram Builder for control logic and data visualization.
Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize Siemens PLC systems using TIA Portal.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and maintenance support for motors, pumps, VFDs, and associated electrical systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and execute electrical projects improving reliability, safety, and process control.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar required.
Proven experience configuring and maintaining SEL and Siemens SIPROTEC relays.
Strong background in medium‑voltage fault analysis and power system protection.
Experience with IEC 61850, SEL RTAC systems, and related software tools.
Proficiency with Siemens PLCs and TIA Portal for control system troubleshooting.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on operational safety.
