Substation Drafter

Denver Job Summary POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a full-time Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Denver office located in Lakewood, Colorado. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within commutable distance of the office). Responsibilities The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical and civil layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams. The successful candidate will also: Learn, understand, and apply CAD knowledge in their work Implement client standards and procedures to ensure work meets their expectations Adhere to POWER's internal standards, procedures, and processes Collaborate with the project team to resolve design issues Seek guidance and mentorship from those with more experience Required Education/Experience Associate's/technical degree in an accredited drafting program, or sufficient industry experience 1+ year drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience 3+ years drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment Proficiency with Autodesk Raster Design and/or Bentley Descartes Experience interpreting substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawings Experience working with scaled drawings Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with ProjectWise File Management System Reliable, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks Our compensation package includes competitive compensation, professional development, and a full benefit package: Medical/Dental/Vision Paid Holidays Vacation/Paid Sick Leave Voluntary Life Insurance 401K Telehealth Benefit covers all providers Maternity and Paternity Leave New Dads and Moms Benefit program Fertility Benefits Gender-affirming care Base Salary Range: $57,450.00 - $81,700.00 per year POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including women, minorities, veterans, and individuals with disabilities
