Sonographer – Cardiac – PRN

Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.
Set up and adjust all equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of cardiac and/or vascular imaging procedures.
Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
Ensure equipment is properly functioning; report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel and lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
Ensure prompt submission of all high‑quality images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.
Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in the department.
Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Licensure, Certification & Registration
BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following required:
Cardiographic sonographer credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. A Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) issued by CCI is accepted.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to or within 12 months (1 year) of hire date.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to or within 12 months (1 year) of hire date.
Vascular Technologist (VT) credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date.
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 months (1 year) of hire date.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent with 2 years of experience OR an Associate’s degree required. Graduate of an accredited sonography program preferred.
