About the role Lead a second‑shift CNC machining team in Germantown, WI, coordinating lathes and mills, maintaining production flow, ensuring quality and safety, mentoring newer machinists, and collaborating with engineering on process improvements.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of second‑shift CNC machinists to hit schedules and quality targets.
Set up and operate CNC equipment (lathes and mills) to produce precise components.
Track job performance, making in‑process adjustments to maintain optimal throughput.
Collaborate with engineering on process improvements and to resolve machining challenges.
Train, coach, and reinforce best practices in machining and shop safety.
Perform frequent in‑process inspections to verify parts meet drawings and specifications.
Keep the work area organized and compliant with all safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; formal machining training or certification preferred.
10+ years of hands‑on CNC machining experience.
3+ years of offline programming experience (Mastercam experience a plus).
Deep knowledge of machining processes and tooling selection.
Ability to read prints and interpret GD&T.
Proven leadership, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset.
Sharp problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong working knowledge of safety practices in a machining environment.
