In this role you will support the Actuary, Large Commercial Property. The successful candidate will be highly driven, able to effectively communicate across functions with technical skills to support evolving pricing and analytic needs to drive profitability.

What you’ll be doing What will your essential responsibilities include?

Support rating algorithm reviews, development, documentation and maintenance

Training of underwriters in pricing matters

Individual account pricing – calculating technical premiums and other key metrics and communicating the results to underwriters

Assisting Actuarial leads with producing recommendations for the base loss ratio as part of the annual strategic planning exercise

Results and metrics storytelling in support of Finance Business Partners and Reserving for Americas Property

Ensure efficiency of pricing processes

Gathering local UW data and analytics needs and problems

Americas Property MI and support for Regional CUO leaders

Property pricing dashboards development and maintenance

Leverage other AXA XL capabilities, e.g. Geospatial Underwriting, Risk Consulting, Pricing Analytics and Models, Catastrophe Risk Management

You will report to the Actuary, Large Commercial Property.

What you’ll bring

Previous experience of working in an actuarial role; experience of non-life insurance pricing, preferably Property Lines

Making good progress through early stages of actuarial exams with the intention to qualify

Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field

Significant experience in Excel; R programming skills desired; other coding experience is a plus

Enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn and develop

Detail-oriented but also need to appreciate the real-world vagaries associated with insurance, third party data and the keys to their successful usage at an enterprise level

Robust verbal communications skills to gain buy-in to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external clients

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 66,600 - 105,100. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location.
