A Snapshot of Your Day:

Our Field Service (FSE) organization travels to power plants across the U.S. where employees are responsible for the maintenance and upgrades of some of the largest and most powerful electrical generation machinery in the world, including gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators. This program is the entry point to our best‑in‑class field service organization.

How You’ll Make An Impact

During your first 12 months, you will complete classroom and lab training in Orlando and participate in on‑the‑job training with experienced engineers, working at multiple customer sites across the U.S.

Work directly with our leading staff of FSE's to develop skills that include equipment operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership, and Siemens Energy’s business systems.

Once you complete training, as a Field Service Engineer, you'll supervise technicians and mechanics working on steam turbine generator equipment during power plant maintenance shutdowns (outages), both planned and unplanned system outages.

Responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling turbines and generators.

Coordinate the upgrading of mechanical and electrical systems on steam turbine generators to increase power output and efficiency.

Collaborate with our worldwide engineering staff to perform niche mechanical and electrical testing and serve as the primary customer contact during outages to ensure repairs are made timely and accurately.

What You Bring

High school diploma or equivalent experience required; 5+ years of proven technical leadership experience in power plant or facilities maintenance and operations preferred. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Open to new graduates with internship experience.

Resolve mechanical problems while working closely on a team and with customers to provide outstanding service.

Self‑starting leader who enjoys using all available resources and leading others to build innovative solutions to challenging mechanical issues.

Comfortable with extensive travel; typically work up to 250 days per year, traveling for 2–15 weeks at a time, with extended working hours of up to 12–14 hours per day including weekends/holidays.

Physically able to ascend/descend a ladder, position yourself to examine equipment, work in confined spaces, move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, and work in outdoor weather conditions. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Base salary range varies by location: $70,000–$100,000 annually; annual incentive target from 0% to 10% of base salary.
