Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative

Electrical Engineer

to join our Innovation team in developing cutting-edge LED lighting systems, low-voltage electronics, and functional automation solutions for residential kitchen/closet environments. This role involves the design, development, and integration of electrical systems including LED fixtures, power supplies, controllers, and electromechanical components. Integration of said components into organizational kitchen and bath accessories is also required. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, creativity, and collaborative spirit to drive product innovation. Key Responsibilities

Design & Development: Lead the design of LED lighting systems, power supplies, and control circuitry for low-voltage applications. Incorporate different types of electrical motion systems such as servo motors and linear actuators. Develop and test embedded electronic systems and controllers to enhance product functionality (e.g., automation, lighting transitions, soft-close or motion-activated systems). Translate user needs and product requirements into electrical and electromechanical system solutions. Integration & Prototyping: Collaborate with industrial designers, mechanical engineers, and suppliers to integrate electronics into kitchen and storage products. Create prototypes and perform proof-of-concept testing to validate design concepts. Ensure seamless integration of power and control electronics with moving or interactive product components. Testing & Validation: Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of circuit designs and embedded systems. Ensure compliance with UL and other certifications. Document testing protocols, results, and improvements. Project Support: Participate in cross-functional design reviews and contribute to product innovation roadmaps. Support product lifecycle from concept through production, including DFM (Design for Manufacturing) considerations. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. 5+ years of experience in electrical design within an R&D or product development environment. Experience in LED lighting, low-voltage power systems, and control circuitry design. Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, LTspice). Familiarity with embedded systems (MCUs, sensors, relays, communication protocols). Technical & Core Competencies

Electrical Engineering Principles: Strong understanding of circuit theory, electromagnetism, control systems, and digital logic. Mathematics & Physics: Solid grasp of applied math (algebra, calculus) and physics fundamentals. Programming: Basic knowledge of embedded C/C++, Python, or similar for microcontroller programming. Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze design challenges and implement practical, cost-effective solutions. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-team collaboration. Creativity: Demonstrated ability to innovate and improve upon existing designs. Teamwork: Proven success working within multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with automation systems or electromechanical actuators. Background in consumer product development or home appliances. Understanding of UL or CE standards and other compliance requirements. Familiarity with IoT systems or wireless control technologies. Experience with 3D CAD software Solidworks preferred.
