Assistant Vice President, Learning & Development
The Assistant Vice President, Learning & Development is a senior enterprise leader responsible for shaping Endeavor Health's system-wide learning strategy and advancing a culture of continuous learning. This role will define and activate a cohesive learning architecture that drives organizational capability, ensures scalability for a 28,000+ employee system, and aligns with business and talent priorities. The AVP will collaborate with senior leadership, clinical education, IT, and business functions to deliver innovative, learner‑centric solutions that accelerate growth, strengthen leadership and professional development skills, and prepare the workforce for the future. This individual will be a strategic thought leader and experienced operator who elevates the impact of learning, leverages governance for consistency and scale, and positions Endeavor Health as a true Academy of Learning.

Location: Warrenville, IL
Full Time / Part Time: Full Time
Hours: Monday‑Friday, during normal business hours
Required Travel: travel to other Endeavor Health sites may be required
What you will do
Activate a comprehensive enterprise Learning Strategy aligned with Endeavor Health's Mission, Vision, Values, and Essential Behaviors and serve as Learning Council Chair, to align learning initiatives across the system and build enterprise‑wide business cases for investments in learning and development.
Oversee enterprise‑wide programs such as New Team Member Orientation, Emerging Leaders, Professional Development Courses, and Leadership Base Camp, ensuring consistency and excellence in delivery.
Build and sustain a world‑class learning architecture that integrates classroom, digital, and blended solutions across functions, ensuring seamless learner experiences.
Champion learner‑centric approaches including experiential, digital, and social learning to deliver innovative, scalable solutions that meet the needs of 28,000 employees.
Develop governance principles, protocols, and processes to coordinate distributed learning functions (e.g., clinical, IT, nursing, physician education, transformation office, quality) across the system.
Advance evaluation strategy beyond Level 1 to a data‑driven approach, measuring learning effectiveness, ROI, and business impact.
Partner with executives to identify and inspire future workforce capabilities, build skills frameworks, and propose new programs that address emerging needs.
Provide leadership in build vs. buy decisions, leveraging external vendors and off‑the‑shelf content to complement internally designed solutions.
Provide input to and drive the learning technology roadmap (Workday Learning, LMS platforms, LinkedIn Learning), ensuring efficiency, adoption, and enhanced user experience.
Lead, develop, and cultivate a high‑performing team of L&D professionals, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
What you will need
Education: Master's degree in organizational development, adult learning, HR, or related field required.
Experience:
10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development including enterprise‑wide strategy and governance in complex, multi‑site organizations; healthcare experience preferred.
3 or more years of experience in a leadership role (preferably Director level or above).
Experience implementing enterprise learning technologies (Workday Learning, LinkedIn Learning, etc.).
Unique or Preferred Skills:
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into scalable learning solutions.
Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity, ambiguity, and organizational change.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey ideas effectively across diverse audiences.
Proven ability to foster innovation, continuous improvement, and a culture of learning.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) for data analysis, executive presentations, and reporting.
Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) tools and emerging technologies to enhance learning design, personalization, and analytics.
Demonstrated success influencing senior executives and aligning enterprise learning with strategic priorities.
Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and platforms such as Workday Learning, LinkedIn Learning, and other digital learning tools.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and metrics tracking, and PowerPoint for high‑impact presentation development.
Ability to leverage AI‑driven tools and analytics platforms to improve learning effectiveness, automate content development, and optimize learner experience.
Knowledge of digital content creation tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, or similar) and collaboration software (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
