Job Purpose PHINIA is seeking a dynamic, results‑driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer to develop and lead remanufacturing programs for commercial vehicle fuel systems and related components. The role involves working closely with engineering teams to create efficient manufacturing processes, manage CAPEX projects, and ensure product quality while balancing commercial and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Work with engineering teams to develop remanufacturing programs for commercial vehicles (fuel systems, smart remote actuators, diesel injectors, and high‑pressure pumps).

Apply reverse engineering to create new processes and rework strategies.

Develop assembly & test strategies for remanufactured products.

Lead development of CAPEX equipment projects from design through launch and high‑volume production.

Design industry‑leading manufacturing processes that meet evolving customer requirements.

Document manufacturing processes, conduct product and process risk assessments, and create maintenance and training procedures.

Continuously improve hardware and software used in manufacturing, balancing commercial requirements with customer needs.

Assure product and process quality, establish standards, and confirm manufacturing process capabilities.

Provide manufacturing decision‑making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

Prepare product and process reports based on data analysis.

Develop test methodologies for competitor components.

Coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep equipment operational.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.

1+ years of automotive manufacturing experience; experience with fuel systems preferred.

Proficiency with Data Acquisition Systems, LabVIEW, and SolidWorks.

Experience in design and/or manufacturing of automotive components.

Experience in process flow design, PFMEA, and control plans.

Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.

Lean manufacturing knowledge; experience improving product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput.

Experience with DOE, Shainin RedX, 8D, GD&T, and root‑cause corrective actions.

Knowledge of Industry 4.0, automation, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machining processes.

Experience with laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generators).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Minitab for statistical analysis.
