Job Description Summary A Hardware In The Loop Simulation Systems Engineer designs, develops, validates, and maintains dynamic simulations and infrastructure for rapid assessment, integration, and test of complex systems. Simulation applications range from high‑level behavioral simulations for visualization and evaluation of system concepts to high‑fidelity real‑time simulations and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop infrastructure to support development, integration, test, and sustainment of systems and software.
Duties / Responsibilities
Model operational environments, perform studies via computer simulation and recommend alternative architectures with some guidance.
Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks to assess system survivability, system effectiveness, and overall system performance in engagement/mission‑level scenarios.
Perform studies and simulation analysis with the objective of enhancing and optimizing system performance capabilities.
Prepare, document, and deliver presentations to gather necessary data and communicate intermediate and final results.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to reason about software designs given requirements and to formulate debugging strategies for complex systems.
Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or other simulation tools, C/C++ software development in Unix/Linux and Windows environments, Linux kernel development, and kernel drivers is also desired.
Familiarity with interface specifications for SPI, I2C, MIL‑STD‑1553, RS‑232, RS‑422, and Ethernet.
Understanding of synchronization protocols such as PTP.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience 3–5 years of Systems Engineering or related experience.
Additional Job Description
Professional software development experience in a multidisciplinary, team setting.
Experience with C/C++.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
Experience with Real Time operating systems is a plus.
Experience with Hardware in the Loop simulation development and testing is a plus.
Experience with Linux operating systems is preferred.
Hardware debugging experience (Oscilloscope and/or logic analyzer) is a plus.
Familiarity with various communications standards such as RS‑422 is a plus.
Familiarity with VHDL is a plus.
Desire to work on mission critical, cutting edge problems and solve them is a plus.
