Job Description This role is based in Information Technology Operations and supports Dearborn Truck Plant (DTP), where America’s best-selling vehicle the F150 has been built for 40+ years, and the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (REVC), where the all-electric F150 Lightning is built.
As a member of the DTP IT team, you will assist the plant in producing these exciting vehicles for the NA consumer market. You will lend knowledge and experience to support implementations of lean manufacturing and Factory of Tomorrow technology (e.g. IIOT platform, software‑defined networks, next‑generation error proofing, and various mobility solutions and pilots), while also supporting the legacy manufacturing execution systems.
The successful candidate will work with a global team to provide technical troubleshooting, data analysis, and problem resolution for the manufacturing applications & infrastructure on the plant floor, including the distributed Cisco network. You will lead efforts to ensure applications and technology meet Ford’s productivity and modernization goals, and interface daily with all business departments in the plant, from industrial controls to quality to finance.

Responsibilities
Support a multi‑shift operation in a manufacturing plant.
Work flexible hours to support a multi‑shift operation, including rotating schedule to support business processes (Days, nights, and weekends). The shift schedule is published in advance on an annual basis.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end‑users on the plant floor, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, and providing training and support to help users effectively utilize technology.
Perform physical activities such as moving assets and equipment around the plant; lifting, carrying, and pushing heavy objects, requiring physical fitness and the ability to work in a demanding environment.
Maintain a strong understanding of IT systems and work a variety of hardware and software applications.
Communicate effectively with end‑users, managers, and other IT professionals to identify and resolve technical issues.
Support plant floor systems/PDO teams in resolving incidents, providing triage, business continuity plans, escalations, and hands‑on support to local and global teams.
Focus on integration and long‑term maintenance of applications and hardware.
Assist plant IT Manager with managing assignments and workload, developing and maintaining accurate support documentation.
Manage local network equipment within a Cisco‑based environment; support local applications across physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, and CAAS).
Support Factory of Tomorrow deployments and expansion efforts utilizing IIOT platform, software‑defined network, iOS devices, and Android‑based equipment.
Interface with corporate IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts.

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience supporting Enterprise IT in areas such as:
Dell PCs, Dell laptops, HP printers, and HP servers.
Windows Server and Windows Active Directory/ADFS.
Server administration for Windows (2012+) or Linux.>
Basic Cisco router and switch staging, troubleshooting, and cable installation.
Office 365 experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Even better, you may have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
A strong desire to learn manufacturing operations and business practices from an IT perspective.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks.
Efficiency working with diverse, cross‑functional teams under stressful circumstances.
Excellent communication with business users and IT professionals, including globally distributed teams.
Ability to adjust communication for various audiences and management levels.
Self‑starter and motivated.

Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge and willingness to learn Cisco SDA troubleshooting and implementation.
Experience with OpenShift CAAS hosting.
Knowledge of MQTT messaging protocol.
Experience with Android/iOS devices (iPhones, iPads).
Experience with SharePoint.
Experience with Office automation, Windows, PCs, and printers.
Plant floor automation experience desired (control systems, PLCs).
