This is an Information Technology Operations based role that supports Dearborn Truck Plant (DTP), where America’s best-selling vehicle the F150 has been built for 40+ years, and the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (REVC), where the all-electric F150 Lightning is built.

As a member of the DTP IT team, you will be assisting the plant in producing these very exciting vehicles for the NA consumer market. You will lend your knowledge and experience to support implementations of lean manufacturing and Factory of Tomorrow technology (e.g. IIOT platform, software-defined networks, next-generation error proofing, and various mobility solutions and pilots), while also supporting the legacy manufacturing execution systems.

The successful candidate will be working with a global team to provide technical troubleshooting, data analysis, and problem resolution for the manufacturing applications & infrastructure on the plant floor, including the distributed Cisco network. You will also lead various efforts to ensure applications and technology meet Ford’s productivity and modernization goals. You will interface daily with all business departments in the plant, from industrial controls to quality to finance.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

2+ years of experience supporting Enterprise IT in areas such as:

Dell PC’s, Dell Laptops, HP Printers, and HP Server

Windows server and Windows Active Directory/ADFS

Server administration; Windows (2012+) or Linux

Familiar with Cisco routers and switches to include basic staging, troubleshooting and cable installation.

Experience with Office365.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Technology or related.

A strong desire to learn manufacturing operations and business practices from an IT perspective is required.

A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is required.

Ability to multi-task; managing multiple tasks

Work efficiently and effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams under stressful circumstances

Ability to communicate effectively with business users and IT professionals including globally distributed teams.

The ability to adjust communications appropriately for the audience across all levels of management and technical knowledge.

Motivated self-starter

Identifying, investigating, and solving problems without supervision

Manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.

Willing to learn Cisco software-defined architecture (SDA) troubleshooting and implementation.

Knowledge of Openshift CAAS hosting

Knowledge of MQTT messaging protocol

Experience with Android and/or iOS, iPhones, iPads.

Experience with SharePoint.

Experience with Office automation, Windows, PC’s & Printers

Any plant floor automation experience is highly desired (Control systems, PLC’s, etc.)

This position is a range of salary grades 5-7.

Responsibilities What you’ll do...

Support a multi-shift operation in a manufacturing plant.

Must be able to work flexible hours in support a multi-shift operation. Requires rotating schedule to support business processes. (Days, nights, and potentially weekends).

Shift schedule is published in advance on an annual basis.

Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users on the plant floor.

This includes diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, as well as providing training and support to help users effectively utilize technology.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also be required to perform physical activities such as moving assets and equipment around the plant. This may involve lifting, carrying, and pushing heavy objects, so you must be physically fit and able to work in a demanding environment.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of IT systems and be comfortable working with a variety of hardware and software applications.

You must also have excellent communication skills, as you will be working closely with end-users, managers, and other IT professionals to identify and resolve technical issues.

Provide technical support (IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, end-user-productivity tools) to plant business customers throughout the manufacturing plant.

Interface with corporate IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts.

Support plant floor systems/PDO teams in resolving incidents: Provide triage and business continuity plans, support escalations, provide hands and feet to support teams and other global teams (e. g. DBA, Server Operations, Network Operations) as necessary.

Focus on the integration / long term maintenance of applications and hardware.

Assist plant IT Manager with managing assignments and workload.

Develop, maintain, and share accurate support documentation.

Support of local network equipment in a Cisco based environment.

Support of local applications across both physical and virtual server environments: Windows, Linux, and CAAS.

Support of Factory of Tomorrow deployments and expansion efforts utilizing IIOT platform, software-defined network, Apple iOS devices, and Android-based equipment.
