Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr The Senior Engineer is a project leader in the R&D group as well as a leading technical contributor. Responsibilities include managing R&D projects from concept to completion, researching moderately complex technical problems, developing new medical devices and solutions. The incumbent may also evaluate new opportunities for innovation and portfolio expansion. The position is ideal for a self‑starter who has a proven track record of leading teams and managing complex projects. Position Responsibilities

Uses engineering methodologies, principles, and tools to develop or improve technical products, systems or processes that meet specified requirements or standards. Researches and identifies optimal materials and processes to ensure product quality, performance and manufacturability. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure specifications are captured. Oversees prototype development and testing to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs, collect feedback and draw meaningful insight for product improvements. Maintains detailed documentation of test results, processes and specifications for future needs. Summarizes research results and communicates findings to internal and external bodies. Assists in the development of manufacturing documentation for production processes. Creates and maintains project timelines and deliverables. Ensures project timelines are communicated and met. Acts as a mentor to other personnel within the team; responsible for delegating and reviewing others' work product as part of a project team. Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

PhD in engineering or engineering technology with 2 years of experience in medical device manufacturing; or MS degree in same with 3 years relevant experience; or BS degree in same with 5 years relevant experience. Experience with developing a process from concept to full production release. Practical knowledge of project management principles. Project leadership experience is required. Experience using analytic skills and problem solving. Ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision. Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the organization. Working knowledge of Design Control processes. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, project management software. Capable of successfully managing concurrent projects independently and in a team environment. Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations. Must have effective oral, written and presentation communication skills. Attention to detail and focus on quality is a must.
