Wild Card is looking for an Assistant Editor to join our team. The primary focus of the Assistant Editor role is to prepare and organize project materials through all stages of the digital, non-linear video editing process. The ideal candidate is a team player that desires to work at a company that values a creative team atmosphere. They are self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, thorough and able to juggle many tasks and responsibilities at once with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times. This is a very demanding position that requires someone who is an effective communicator, positive thinker and is able to show good judgment and initiative.

Job Responsibilities

Digitizing / Importing / Transcoding footage, graphics and music

Creating support documentation (continuity breakdowns, VFX breakdowns, pull lists, cue sheets, etc…)

Downloading media

Maintaining proper formats, frame rates and project organization

Building feature assemblies from dailies, feature reels and stems

Assisting Editors dailies pulls and various other requests

Creating string outs and shot requests

Syncing audio and Overcutting footage

Posting cuts for Producers and Clients

Prepping for finishing and outputting AAFs, EDLs, XMLs and References

Exporting finishes for in-house finishing

Maintaining clean and organized projects throughout the editorial process

Prepping projects for archiving and backup

Responding to the creative requests of producers such as music searches, stock footage searches, dialogue cobbling, visual breakdowns, rough feature assemblies, etc.

Qualifications

1+ years of assistant editor experience; preferably within a theatrical marketing environment

1+ Years of Adobe Premiere/Media Encoder expertise

Understanding of frame rates, conversions and codecs

Exceptional organizational skills

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Must be detail oriented

Must be team oriented

Must be able to quickly pick up on workflows and procedures

Must be technically minded

Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a high energy environment

Ability and willingness to work overtime with little or no notice

Adobe Photoshop, After Effect skills a plus

DaVinci Resolve and AVID Media Composer skills a plus

Previous experience with current camera formats and codecs preferred

Working knowledge of a number of applications including but not limited to Excel, Word, FTP posting, general network storage and basic computer file systems such as File Maker Pro

Meticulous, collaborative, patient, level headed, able to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude

Pay Range $27 - $27 USD
